Jubin Abutalebi

Professor Jubin Abutalebi is a cognitive neurologist and senior medical officer at the Department of Neurocognitive and motor rehabilitation of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, led by Dr. Sandro Iannaccone.
He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia in 1998 and specialized with honors in Neurology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan in 2003. He was a post-doctoral researcher at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, later serving as a University Researcher, and since 2015, he has been an Associate Professor of Neuropsychology at the Faculty of Psychology, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. He earned a Ph.D. in Neurolinguistics from the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong in 2014.
Professor Abutalebi specializes in language disorders (aphasia), dementias and cognitive decline (Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementias, other dementias), Parkinson's disease, and stroke. Much of his clinical work is focused on cognitive function rehabilitation. He currently directs the Center for Neurolinguistics and Psycholinguistics (CNPL) at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, which was founded in 2016 to pursue high-quality research on the neural bases of language.
He is a world-renowned figure in neurolinguistics and neuropsychology, with his research published in leading international journals in neuropsychology, neuroimaging, and neuroscience.
Since 2013, he has served as editor-in-chief of the prestigious international journal Bilingualism: Language and Cognitionfrom Cambridge University Press (Impact Factor: 4.8). His recent scientific work focuses on healthy brain aging, cognitive decline, and bilingualism.
