السيرة الذاتية

Professor Patrizia Rovere Querini is the Director of the General Medicine Unit focused on Metabolic Health and Aging at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

She is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Group Leader of the Laboratory of Innate Immunity and Tissue Remodeling. Since November 2024, she has been Director of the Residency Program in Internal Medicine.

With a strong background in clinical immunology, over the years she has expanded her interests to include broader issues related to complex, frail, and comorbid patients. Within this context, the Long COVID outpatient clinic was established.

Her interest in metabolic diseases and their progression with aging (such as atherosclerosis, overweight, hepatic steatosis, etc.) stems from studying the relationship between a patient's metabolic state and their inflammatory immune function.

She works in metabolic health both scientifically—particularly researching sarcopenia—and clinically, by overseeing outpatient clinics for dyslipidemia, hepatology, and geriatrics. Professor Rovere Querini is also Co-Director of the Center of Excellence for Metabolic Health.

Thanks to the use of advanced analytical methods, including those enabled by artificial intelligence, Professor Rovere Querini is involved in developing digital systems to manage comorbid patients and define increasingly tailored treatments.

From her immunology background, she has maintained a focus on immunology of conception and pregnancy-related disorders. She directs the Pregnancy Immunology outpatient clinic in collaboration with the Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Reproductive Medicine Unit, and the Myositis Clinic in collaboration with the Neurology Unit. She also works with the Birth Sciences Center on issues such as infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and repeated implantation failures.

Her h-index is 87. She is the author and co-author of over 360 peer-reviewed publications in international scientific journals, with more than 24,500 citations (Scopus, 2025).

She teaches at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in the International MD Program, Medicine and Surgery, Biotechnology and Medical Biology programs, and in the Level I Master in Clinical Research for Nurses and Midwives.
