Biography
Dr. Federico Furlan is the Head of the Emergency Department at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Verona in 1995, where he also specialized in Internal Medicine in 2000. In 1996, he obtained his medical license and was registered with the Medical Association of Milan.
His professional experience includes:
- From 1999 to 2002, he was a researcher at the Bone and Mineral Diseases Department, Internal Medicine Division, at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
- From 2002 to 2007, he worked as a researcher in the Molecular Genetics Division at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan.
- From 2003 to 2005, he worked in the Internal Medicine Department at Ospedale San Raffaele.
- Since 2003, he has been part of the Emergency Department team at Ospedale San Raffaele.
- Since 2005, he has been running an outpatient clinic focused on bone metabolism disorders at Ospedale San Raffaele.
In the Emergency Department, Dr. Furlan leads a multidisciplinary team of doctors and healthcare professionals who manage emergencies and urgent cases, stabilizing patients and ensuring their appropriate transfer to specialized departments. He oversees the care of both time-sensitive conditions and minor cases, which are increasingly frequent, ensuring they receive the proper diagnostic and therapeutic pathway through the resources available at the Emergency Department.
