Franco Fabbiocchi

Biography

Dr. Franco Fabbiocchi is a Cardiologist and Deputy Director of Interventional Cardiology at the University Cardiology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio. He also collaborates with Smart Clinic.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1979 and specialized in Cardiology there in 1981.

Throughout his clinical career, Dr. Fabbiocchi has focused on all percutaneous coronary and peripheral interventional techniques, developing particular expertise in intracoronary imaging. His expertise is nationally and internationally recognized through active participation in leading scientific studies in the field.

In recent years, he has performed over 250 OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) examinations annually, which allows for the optimization of coronary stent implantation by providing direct visualization of the coronary arteries from within. He also works in structural interventional cardiology and has performed over 600 percutaneous aortic valve replacements (TAVI) alongside Professor Bartorelli.

Dr. Fabbiocchi has published over 150 scientific papers and has significantly contributed to the publication of major studies regarding the use of OCT in coronary angioplasty. He regularly participates in national and international conferences in his field.
