Biography
Dr. Loris Belotti is an ophthalmic surgeon and the Head of the Ophthalmology Unit at Policlinico San Pietro.
He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia in 1998, followed by a specialization in Ophthalmology, which he completed with honors.
Dr. Belotti began his career in 2005 at Policlinico San Marco in Zingonia and has been working at Policlinico San Pietro in the Ophthalmology Unit since 2010.
He has developed particular expertise in surgical procedures, including:
- Cataract surgery;
- Glaucoma surgery;
- Intravitreal injections of anti-angiogenic drugs for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration;
- Intravitreal implants for treating retinal vein occlusions and diabetic macular edema;
- Blepharoplasty for dermatochalasis and correction of entropion, ectropion, and xanthelasma. Removal of pterygium, pinguecula, conjunctival cysts, chalazion, and eyelid tumors.
His main areas of interest also include:
- Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty (ALT) and Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) for open-angle glaucoma;
