Biography

Dr. Marco Conti Nibali is a neurosurgeon specializing in Oncological Neurosurgery at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio.

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2015, and went on to complete his specialization in Neurosurgery with honors at the same university in 2021.

Dr. Conti Nibali trained with an internationally recognized group specializing in brain lesion treatment using brain mapping and awake surgery techniques. During his specialization, he collaborated with leading international centers in oncological neurosurgery and neuro-oncology.

From November 2016 to January 2020, he worked at Humanitas Research Hospital in the Oncological Neurosurgery Unit. In 2020, he joined the IRCCS Policlinico di Milano in the Neurosurgery Unit. Since September 2020, he has been part of the Oncological Neurosurgery team led by Prof. Lorenzo Bello.

His surgical focus is primarily on brain lesions (gliomas, metastases, meningiomas, lymphomas, cavernous malformations) utilizing advanced techniques for brain mapping and intraoperative monitoring, both under general anesthesia and awake.

Dr. Conti Nibali also addresses cerebrospinal fluid dynamics disorders (hydrocephalus, pseudotumor cerebri), histological assessment of deep brain lesions through frameless stereotactic biopsy, and the diagnosis and treatment of degenerative spine conditions (herniated discs, stenosis, spondylolisthesis).

His research is centered on improving functional and oncological outcomes for patients undergoing glioma surgery.

Dr. Conti Nibali has authored nearly 40 papers published in prestigious international scientific journals.
