Raffaele Vinci
Biography
Professor Raffaele Vinci is the director of the Departmental Unit of Oral Surgery and Implantology at the Department of Dentistry, headed by Professor Enrico Gherlone, at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital. He is also the Director of the Specialization School in Oral Surgery and an Associate Professor of Odontostomatological Diseases at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1980 from the University of Milan and specialized in Maxillofacial Surgery in 1985.
His teaching and professional experience includes:
- From 1984 to 1997, he served as an assistant and later as co-responsible at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the Civil Hospitals of Brescia.
- From 1997 to 2003, he was the Director of the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at the Italian Stomatological Institute in Milan.
- Since 2004, he has been the Head of the Advanced Oral Surgery Department at the Department of Dentistry (Director: Prof. E. Gherlone) at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital.
- From 1993 to 2004, he was a Contract Professor for various subjects at the Specialization School in Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Ferrara.
- From 2006 to 2015, he held the chair in Special Odontostomatological Surgery at the Dental Hygiene degree course and later in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
Professor Vinci focuses on clinical practice and translational scientific research in the fields of oral and implant-prosthetic surgery, particularly in:
- Simple and complex implantology
- Treatment of osteolytic lesions of the jawbones and soft tissues.
He has authored over 180 publications in prestigious national and international journals, achieving an H-index of 21.
