Alberto Andrea Zambon
Biografía
Dr. Alberto Andrea Zambon is a neurologist and pediatric neurologist consultant at the Neurology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in 2013 and specialized in Neurology there in 2019. Following his specialization, he pursued a PhD in Molecular Medicine, focusing on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, from 2020 to 2023.
During his specialization (2018-2019) and as a research fellow (2020-2021), he spent two years at the Dubowitz Neuromuscular Centre at University College London, where he worked with pediatric patients with neuromuscular diseases at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 2024, he completed an international master's program at the University of Milan on peripheral nervous system diseases.
Dr. Zambon provides consultations in the Neonatology and Pediatrics departments, led by Dr. Graziano Barera, and supports the Pediatric Immunohematology department directed by Professor Alessandro Aiuti.
His clinical work focuses on diagnosing and treating neurological diseases in children, with particular interest in neonatal neurology, follow-up of premature infants, and pediatric and adult neuromuscular diseases.
His research is primarily centered on hereditary neuromuscular diseases such as myopathies (e.g., dystrophinopathies, congenital muscular dystrophies like LAMA2-RD) and hereditary neuropathies. He is also involved in the study of patients with metachromatic leukodystrophy and has authored over 20 scientific publications.
