Serena Girardelli
Biografía
Dr. Serena Girardelli is an obstetrician and gynecologist at the U.O. of Obstetrics and Gynecology at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Professor Massimo Candiani.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2013 from the University of Milan and completed her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2019 at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele. During her specialization, she undertook a clinical and research fellowship at the Centre for Fetal Care - Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust (2018-2019).
In 2021, she was awarded the "Amalia-Griffini" fellowship for a research project on the use of HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) for the ablation of arteriovenous anastomoses in placentas from monochorionic twin pregnancies.
Currently, Dr. Girardelli focuses on managing maternal pathology and performing ultrasound evaluations of fetal issues, with a particular interest in managing pregnancies with a diagnosis or history of neoplasia and monitoring pregnancies undergoing chemotherapy.
Her work is centered at the Pregnancy Pathology Clinics, Gestational Diabetes Clinic, Pregnancy Hypertension Clinic, and Tumors in Pregnancy Clinic, as well as first and second-level ultrasound clinics (including first-trimester chromosomal anomaly screening).
She also performs duties in labor ward, obstetric ward, gynecology ward, and obstetric-gynecological emergency room.
Her research activities are focused on fetal growth restriction, chemotherapy during pregnancy, and tumors in pregnancy.
