Giovanni Guarneri
Biographie
Dr. Giovanni Guarneri is a hepatobiliary-pancreatic and transplant surgeon at the Pancreatic Surgery and Transplant Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, led by Prof. Massimo Falconi.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2013 from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University with honors (110/110 cum laude). In 2019, he specialized in General Surgery at the same university, also with honors (70/70 cum laude). Between 2018 and 2019, he worked in the Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic and Transplant Surgery Department at "Beaujon" Hospital in Paris.
In 2020, Dr. Guarneri was awarded a Research Fellowship focused on perioperative management of surgical patients at the Pancreas Translational and Clinical Research Center at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. In 2023, he earned a First-Level Master’s Degree in Data Science and Data Management for Scientific Research from the University of Milan-Bicocca.
His clinical work centers on treating pancreatic, duodenal, and biliary diseases, as well as gallbladder and liver conditions. He also performs general, hernia, and organ transplant surgeries, often serving as the primary surgeon in numerous abdominal procedures.
Dr. Guarneri is a member of several scientific societies, including the Italian Association for Pancreatic Studies (AISP), the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS), and the European Pancreatic Club (EPC). He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in indexed journals (Scopus H-index: 11).
Currently, his research focuses on pancreatic pathology, neuroendocrine tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, and perioperative management of surgical patients.
