Biography

Dr. Francesca Bevilacqua is a cardiologist at the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology and Hemodynamics Unit of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

After earning her degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2016 from the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, she obtained her medical license in 2017 from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. In 2022, she completed her specialization in Cardiology at the University of Milan, with a particular focus on congenital heart disease and advanced cardiovascular imaging. During her training, she completed a clinical rotation at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, strengthening her expertise in congenital heart defects and multimodal imaging.

Her clinical work focuses on the management and long-term follow-up of patients with congenital heart disease, with particular attention to risk assessment and the management of late complications.

She works within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the comprehensive care of congenital patients, developing personalized treatment strategies and optimizing clinical management of these complex conditions. She is also involved in cardiovascular imaging, with experience in pediatric and adult echocardiography as well as cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) for the study of congenital and acquired heart diseases.

Her research is focused on congenital heart disease and cardiovascular imaging, with particular interest in the long-term complications of surgical corrections and the clinical management of patients.

She has presented her work at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
