Giovanni Anselmetti
Biography
Dr. Giovanni Carlo Anselmetti is an interventional neuroradiologist at the Neuroradiology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
In 1990, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Turin, where he later specialized in Radiology in 1994.
Since April 1992, he has been a full-time assistant at the Institute of Radiology at the University of Turin.
From March 1984 to July 1990, he actively collaborated on numerous research projects in the fields of Neuroscience and Neuroendocrinology at the Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology, within the Institute of Normal Human Anatomy at the University of Turin.
In 1992, he attended the Radiological University Clinic at the University of Freiburg (Germany), where he learned the percutaneous Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Stent Shunt (TIPSS) procedure. In March of the same year, he participated in performing this procedure for the first time in Italy at the Institute of Radiology at the University of Turin.
From 1995 to 1999, he was an unpaid adjunct professor at the School of Specialization in Orthognathodontics at the University of Turin.
From 1999 to 2012, he was the Head of the Interventional and Vascular Radiology Section at the Radiology Department of the Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment in Candiolo (Turin).
Since September 2012, he has been working as a freelance consultant in Musculoskeletal Interventional Radiology at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan.
Currently, he serves as a neuroradiology consultant for spinal and osteoarticular interventional procedures at the Neuroradiology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, under the direction of Prof. Andrea Falini.
Dr. Anselmetti primarily focuses on minimally invasive interventional procedures for the spine, contributing through clinical trials and research on improving technology and materials used in these procedures.
He has participated in numerous training courses and national and international congresses, particularly in the fields of Interventional, Thoracic, Urological, and Breast Radiology, for which he holds certificates of participation. He is the author of numerous publications on surgical, anatomical-physiological, and interventional radiology topics, with an H-index of 28.
