Matteo Schillaci

Dr. Matteo Schillaci is an assistant cardiologist at the University Cardiology Unit of IRCCS Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio Hospital. He also collaborates with Smart Clinic. 

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan-Bicocca in 2017 and later specialized, once again with top marks, in Cardiovascular Diseases in 2022 at the University of Milan. He then completed a fellowship at the Monzino Cardiology Center under the guidance of Prof. Daniele Andreini, where he acquired advanced skills in cardiac imaging, non-invasive assessment of coronary atherosclerosis, valvular diseases, myocardial-pericardial diseases, and sports cardiology.

Dr. Schillaci is involved in clinical cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging. His main areas of interest are coronary CT, cardiac MRI, 2D/3D transthoracic echocardiography at rest and stress, and transesophageal echocardiography. The primary topics studied by Dr. Schillaci include:

• Non-invasive assessment of coronary atherosclerosis
• Heart failure and cardiomyopathies
• Sports cardiology

He is the co-author of numerous scientific publications and serves as a review editor for *Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine*. Additionally, he is a member of the ESC Working Group of Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and the study groups of the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC) for sports cardiology and nuclear cardiology and CT. He regularly participates in national and international conferences in the field.
