Biographie

Dr. Edvin Zekaj is a neurosurgeon at the Neurochirurgical Unit of IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 2007 and specialized in Neurosurgery at the University of Milan in 2013.

He completed the last three years of his specialization at the Neurochirurgical Department of IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi, where he served as assistant (2013-2021) and then as senior assistant (from 2021).

Dr. Zekaj focuses primarily on the study and treatment of spinal column issues. His specific areas of interest include:

  • Treatment of cervical spine disorders, such as Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy
  • Management of intradural tumors, including meningiomas, schwannomas, and ependymomas
  • Treatment of degenerative lumbar spine diseases (spondylolisthesis, spinal canal stenosis, herniated discs)

His surgical work employs advanced techniques, including neuronavigation systems, intraoperative CT, and surgical microscopy.

He is an author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in international journals, contributing to clinical research in his field.
