Biografie

Dr. Carla Canevari is a nuclear medicine physician at the Nuclear Medicine Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Dr. Luigi Agostino Gianolli.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1998 and specialized in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2004.

In 2013, she earned a Level II Master's Degree in Senology from the University of Insubria, followed by a Level II Master's Degree in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition from the University of Pavia in 2019.

She was a contract lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milano-Bicocca, teaching at the School of Specialization in Nuclear Medicine from the 2009/2010 academic year until 2016/2017. Since 2017/2018, she has assisted the lead professor in teaching Senology for second-year students.

Clinically, Dr. Canevari performs diagnostic investigations using gamma-emitting radioisotopes, including PET, PET/CT, and PET/MR with tracers such as [18F]FDG, [11C]Choline, [11C]Methionine, [68Ga]DOTATOC, [68Ga]PSMA, [18F]PSMA, [18F]NaF, and others. She has a particular focus on oncological and inflammatory diseases, especially breast, neuroendocrine, and hepatobiliary pathologies.

She also specializes in radiometabolic therapy, including Zevalin for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), Ra223 for breast and prostate cancers, and Y90-labeled microspheres (Sirtex and Therasphere) for liver tumors.

Dr. Canevari participates in disease units and is the author or co-author of 32 scientific publications.
