Mattia Squillace (Маттиа Сквиллаче)

Dr. Mattia Squillace is an interventional cardiologist at the Interventional Cardiology and Hemodynamics Unit of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato. He also works at Policlinico San Marco.
He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore-Policlinico Gemelli in Rome in 2015. In 2020, he completed his specialization in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Milan, achieving a score of 70/70 with honors.
In 2022, he furthered his training with a Second-Level Master in Interventional Cardiology at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, focusing his research on the study of the XLIMus drug-eluting stent through a randomized controlled trial to evaluate its endothelialization, known as the XLIMIT trial.
From the beginning of his training, Dr. Squillace has shown a particular interest in interventional cardiology, regularly attending hemodynamic laboratories. He solidified his passion during subsequent experiences at Policlinico di Milano, Policlinico San Marco in Zingonia, and Policlinico San Donato.
Currently, as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Squillace primarily deals with ischemic and valvular heart disease. He also has a keen interest in peripheral interventional procedures, focusing on carotid, abdominal aorta, and iliac-femoral axis interventions.
In recent years, he has directed his attention toward the development and refinement of new technologies applied to coronary interventions, utilizing robotic methods and artificial intelligence. He is currently positioned as the operator with the highest number of robotic percutaneous angioplasties in Italy.
